Hitha Prabhakar

Part two of the Topshop blow out series...

Right in the middle of my blow out I realized a) Patrick, my amazing stylist at Frederic Fekkai, cut my hair way too short for my taste (cute if I wanted to be a full time anchor, but I don't) and b) it's all about the round brush for smooth and straight hair!!

In honor of Topshop opening in NYC...

Check out the video I did of me getting a blow out at the Topshop in London last November. PS, rumor has it you are going to be able to get blow outs at the new Topshop Topman here in NYC as well. Awesome.  Part 1:

A fun fact about me: every night I have about three events I have to go to. Another fun fact about me: I usually go to the ones I absolutely MUST be at. Last night was one of those nights that wasn't a work obligation, meet and greet or something I was covering. It was just a fun night with my close friends. I loved it.

Let them eat cake.

Recession? Economic crisis? These days the fashion industry is (in Guy Trebay's words) having a "Marie Antoinette" moment. I have to tell you, I kind of agree. Between the half million dollar fetes I attend almost daily for a new book, store opening or product and the INSANELY expensive press kits I get FED EXED to me even though offices are just down the street, it seems the fashion industry continues to debauch out even though Rome is burning. I think we are gonna have a rude awakening...

Typical night.

Yeah... if you've been out with me in the last year or so you know I am never on time. It's a problem andI am trying to fix it. Last Friday was no different. I went to go meet my friend for dinner and I was 35 minutes late. Ugh. I can see where people would think it was a personal "f--- you" and totally disrespectful of their time, but I want everyone to know that's not my intention at all! Some people smoke, drink, do drugs, cheat on their significant others. I'm always late. And I swear I am trying to change!!

Whoa the cab was windy.

I think TV in the back of cabs is kind of genius. BUT it makes me ill to watch TV and drive at the same time. I always turn it off.

We were going 75 MPH down 5th ave!!

Cessnas are scary...until now!!

But I flew on one Wednesday morning for a lunch at The Surf Lodge in Montauk. I won't lie, when I first got on the flight I was beside myself with fear. But seeing the views and having one of the most beautiful days EVER out on the north shore was so worth the ride. Vogue was having a shoot with designer Tracey Feith while we were eating lunch made by Sam The Surf Lodge's incredible chef. Thanks to V1 Jets for taking us out there!

The view at take off. We are in the East river in NYC.

Arthur Ashe stadium from the air.

The deck at The Surf Lodge. I swear we were working and not just hanging out!!

Sam's incredible lunch of lobster salad sandwich, fava bean and lemon grass salad a crab ceviche with blueberries and popcorn.

The flight we took back to NYC. This is at the airport in Montauk. I was of course beyond frightened, but the ride back was less bumpy. Maybe I just got used to it...
